About the product

The name courgette comes from the Italian and means ‘small pumpkin’. The fruit is less juicy, firmer than the cucumber and can also be eaten raw. The skin colour is light green, dark green or yellow, sometimes striped or spotted. There are elongated and round varieties. Courgettes are rather neutral in taste – eaten raw they taste slightly nutty. When cooked, courgettes are particularly easy to digest.

Did you knwo? … The smaller and fresher the courgettes are, the more delicate their flavour. Their flowers are also edible.
