Pears
Pears differ in fruit shape, skin colour, juice content, flesh consistency and aroma. They can be tender and juicy, firm and low in acid or aromatically sweet. The fruits are harvested hard-ripe, as they would otherwise be too sensitive. However, they ripen in a few days and thus reach eating ripeness.
Did you know? … The pear is a very old crop and today there are around 5,000 varieties worldwide.

Germany, Netherlands
Storage
It is best to store the pear in a cool place. Temperatures of 2 – 4°C are ideal. It is also important to store it separately from other types of fruit, as citrus fruits, for example, accelerate ripening.
