Chocolate Orange
The chocolate orange was created by chance. It was discovered in Spain in the 80s. Its special colour ranges from dark green to brown-green to brown. The colour comes from the fact that it cannot break down the green dye. This is because oranges actually change colour from green to orange. In the case of the chocolate orange, the green remains and mixes with orange to become brown.
It tastes very aromatic – but not much different from a tasty, fine Navel Late.
Did you know? … Some fruits have a more or less broad orange stripe.
