Artichokes

The thistle-like plant is thought to have originated in the Mediterranean region. It has always been considered a noble flowering vegetable and was reserved for the nobility until the 18th century. Today it is a popular and widespread vegetable in its countries of origin. In Germany, it is mainly offered in oil. We know its potential and would like to help it become more popular. The artichoke is tasty raw in salads, cooked with various dips, fried in olive oil, stuffed or grilled.

Did you know? … Artichokes contain valuable ingredients that on one hand stimulate digestion and on the other hand can positively influence blood fat levels. It was already known as a medicinal plant in ancient Egypt.
